Set in a beautiful rural location overlooking meadows, you can unwind in the peaceful Suffolk countryside, enjoy the sounds of the natural world, see the stars and detox from the digital world.

Our two shepherd huts Thyme and Sage each accommodate two people and are connected to mains electricity and water.

  • Our shepherds huts are set in secluded grounds at Boundary Farm, on the edge of Saxtead village which has its own pub, The Old Mill House a short stroll from the farm.

    The historic market town of Framlingham, complete with castle and mere, is five minutes by car or about half an hour via the footpaths. Less than half an hour’s drive away are the beautiful Heritage Coast towns of Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich, Thorpeness and Aldeburgh to name just a few of the better known places.

    There is access and parking via a private driveway that leads down to the side of the Farmhouse.

  • Our two 16′ fully insulated Shepherd’s Huts crafted by local artisans are luxurious re-incarnations of the traditional mobile homes that shepherds of the dim and distant past lived in whilst guarding their flocks yet still retaining their traditional style and charm but with modern comforts. They are an opportunity to ‘get away from it all’ whilst still enjoying some of the finer things in life – like a log fire, a luxurious double bed and a hot shower.


    Connected to mains water and electricity, the accommodation includes an en-suite shower room, bespoke kitchen, living area, double bed and a wood burning stove to ensure your stay is relaxing and comfortable. Outside there is a table and chairs, barbeque and a shared fire pit with the other shepherd’s hut.

    Weekend rates Friday/Saturday £95 per night

  • From glorious beaches, scenic heath land, gently rolling countryside, nature reserves and picturesque old wool towns to historic castles, arts, cultural and sports activities, family themed attractions and scrumptious locally produced food and drink there’s something in Suffolk for everyone regardless of age and interest.

    Only one mile from Boundary Farm and four miles from Willow Cottage, is the charming, historic market town of Framlingham. Renown for its 12th century castle surrounded by parkland and the Mere which is a haven for wildlife and walkers, Framlingham is a perfect town for a stroll, shop and glimpse of history. Market Hill is the town’s centre and hosts markets on Saturday and Tuesday.

    Our farm cottages and glamping site is within easy reach of the unspoilt Suffolk coast and heaths (an area of outstanding beauty) renowned for its scenic beauty, wildlife and outdoor recreation. The beautiful coastal towns and villages of Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich, Sizewell, Thorpeness, Aldeburgh, Bawdsey Quay and Orford add much to its unique appeal.

    You’re spoilt for choice for fabulous walks in this area, which showcase the range of wildlife and countryside whether its marsh, woodland, heath, rolling countryside or the coast.

    RSPB Minsmere (of Spring Watch fame) is a fantastic coastal nature reserve featuring splendid woodland, wetland and coastal scenery, rare birds, shy wildlife, beautiful bugs and colourful wild flowers in summer.

    Accessible by a short boat ride, this is the largest vegetated shingle spit in Europe and is an important nature reserve providing a location for breeding and passage birds as well as for the coastal shingle flora and wildlife. From 1913 until the mid-1980s the Ness was used as a secret military test site.


    3.5 miles from Framlingham, Easton Farm Park is a petting farm with loads of activities including pony rides, indoor play barns, wonderful café all set in the beautiful Deben river valley.

    Decked out across the sea, this historic pillared walkway sums up an idyllic English seaside destination. It offers cafés and restaurants, shops and amusement arcade.

    The sanctuary at Stonham Barns, Stonham Aspall is a delightful place to watch, study or simply enjoy the company of owls and other birds of prey. There are over 80 raptors at the Centre, all housed in spacious aviaries and flying free in narrated flying displays or demonstrations. There is also a leisure and retail village, golf centre, fishing lake, playground, shops and tea room.

    A walking safari set in 100 acres and home to more than 80 species of animals from around Africa. Located in Kessingland near Lowestoft, around 20 miles away.

    Often awarded the prize of Norfolk’s Top Attraction, the zoo is home to over 2,000 animals. 25 miles.

    One of Suffolk’s leading family attractions, Pleasurewood Hills in Lowestoft (28 miles) offers lots of thrilling rides including four roller coasters!

    The RSPB has six nature reserves on the beautiful Suffolk Coast. There’s a wealth of wildlife to be seen. Minsmere is the flagship reserve, offering a variety of countryside walks and bird-watching hides, a busy programme of events and top class facilities including a shop and tearoom.

    If it’s adrenaline, fun and excitement you are looking for, you will go a long way to beat the exhilarating experience of a high speed sea blast aboard the thrilling charter RIB Coastal Voyager!

    Framlingham is a magnificent late 12th-century castle, its striking outline reflected in the nearby mere.

    is a corn mill, whose whole body revolves on its base and was one of many built in Suffolk from the late 13th century.

    An awe inspiring Anglo Saxon burial ground. Plenty of activities and events for families and children.

    Discover one of England’s most complete and unusual keeps. The unique polygonal tower keep of Orford Castle stands beside the pretty town and former port.

    Cycling – There are many trails and routes through villages, forests and countryside including the 88 mile Suffolk Cycle Coastal Route. There are a number of cycle hire shops in Southwold, Aldeburgh and Rendlesham Forest to name a few.

    Golf – Suffolk is a golfer’s paradise. With courses to suit everyone from beginners to pros. Available at High Lodge, Cretingham, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Ufford, Woodbridge, Witnesham and Halesworth, and there are driving ranges at Stonham Barns and Ufford.

    Sailing and surfing. With miles of fabulous coastline Suffolk is a great place for watersports. From sailing trips to small and large yacht charter, through to comprehensive RYA sail training.
