Genuine 1960's Box Van of the Lincolnshire Railways.

Open all year round, it has been converted into a beautiful bijou glamping experience that will Sleep 4 on a double bed and futon. It also has a kitchen area & woodburner.

Welcome to our Railway Goods Carriage! We found this on E-bay, it had been sitting in a Barn for thirty years in Lincoln where it had been used as a tool store.

If your wondering where the wheels are box vans did not have wheels they have rollers underneath so they could be pushed into hulls of ships etc, They were lifted up and put onto a long train base, and were the forerunner of todays metal shipping containers.

The timbers used to give it a log cabin effect are also reclaimed, and as it is insulated we will be letting our Carriage out to guests the whole year round.

It has been fully insulated inside there is a double bed, double futon, Kitchen area that includes a Calor gas stove, grill, pots, pans & crockery etc, Woodburner, solar lights, and lanterns.

It sits on Railway Sleepers with a deck out front with tables and chairs, also you will find a fire pit, charcoal barbeque, hammock and eating/seating area for a special evening under the stars or a lovely day basking in the summer sun.

Our unique selling point is that you can sit in your Railway Carriage and watch the old diesel and steam locomotives go past across the fields adjoining our site.

The internal measurements while compact ( 7 foot wide and 15 foot long ) are still much bigger than a reproduction of a Shepherds Hut
