• General information

  Two beautiful traditional style shepherd’s huts on our hill sheep farm in the fabulous Peak District, situated above the River Dove near the picturesque Milldale.

  Our quaint shepherd’s huts are reminiscent of the original living accommodation for a shepherd, with its stable door, cast iron wheels and wood burning stove.

  Today it is a romantic all seasons retreat to relax, unwind, explore, walk and enjoy this countryside haven.

  The shepherd’s huts are sited in a tranquil setting on the fringe of a small woodland, with nature on the doorstep. Ideally suited to couples or the solo traveller to escape the bustle of everyday life.

  With circular walks from the doorstep, you can bring along your furry companion in our pet friendly shepherd hut Lily, as they are also welcome at no extra fee.

  Our shepherd huts are ecologically friendly, with no electricity, television or internet, instead just relax, refresh and awaken your senses amongst nature in the delightful Derbyshire Dales.

  Each hut full of rustic charm contain wood burning stoves to keep you warm & cosy, perfect for those chilly Winter evenings and cooler days. They each contain a built- in double bed with sumptous matresses & fresh pretty linens and throws ensuring a good nights sleep. Battery operated lanterns & fairy lights creating an ambient atmosphere, a camping gas stove for cooking simple meals, alternatively cook outside on the charcoal barbeque and enjoy alfresco dinning.

  If you don’t want to do all the cooking, an optional breakfast hamper can be delivered right to your door to set you up for the day. see website for menu & prices

  The outdoor seating around a small fire pit for warmth whilst star gazing under starry skies. sit on the log seats at the end of the site and watch the sunset over the DoveDale valley & hills.

   

   

• Accommodation

   

  Each shepherd hut sleeps 2 persons in a double bed. All linens are supplied for your stay including towels

  There is an initial supply of logs in each hut, you are more than welcome to bring or buy your own logs or we sell extra bags of logs when required.

  There is no electricty in our huts to keep them as traditional and eco as possible, but there is a power point in the Old dairy for keeping you in the 21st century to charge phones, or to use a hair drier. Also a shared fridge

  The shower/toilet block has been allocated one toilet & one shower to each hut - so no having to share facilities

  There is no car parking on site, cars are parked in allocated bays in the farm yard , a short distance from the huts.

• Prices

  Shepherd’s hut hire from £50 - £85 per night.

  There is a £10 reduction per night stay of 3-4 nights  £15 reduction per night for stays of 5-7 nights.

  Please note a minimum stay of 2 nights at the weekend Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun

  Additional bags of logs £6

   

   Shepherd hut Lily  is dog friendly,

  We kindly ask that dogs are never left unattended inside or outside the shepherd hut.
