  • Cuckoo Down Farm is a beautiful small farm in east Devon, offering peaceful and family-friendly glamping stays in two safari tents and three yurts. The glamping accommodation is top quality, with everything provided from sofas and rugs to wood-burning stoves and double beds.

We are popular with families and couples in search of tranquil, child-friendly and relaxed glamping accommodation.

The farm itself has wildflower meadows, a three-acre bluebell and oak wood, pretty views, lots of trees and wildlife. Spot deer, foxes, badgers and birds, as well as superb stars on clear nights thanks to the lack of light pollution.

Each glamping tent is beautifully furnished with rugs, sofas, proper beds with John Lewis mattresses and woodburner stoves to keep them cosy and warm.

East Devon is a treasure trove of good gastro-pubs, restaurants and family friendly days out, and is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, while the Jurassic coast (from Lyme Regis to Sidmouth) is a World Heritage Site. It is easily reached from London, the Midlands and the South East, thanks to the M5 and the A303/A30, both of which pass within 10 minutes' drive of Cuckoo Down Farm.

This glamping holiday farm comes highly recommended on Trip Advisor - five stars and a Certificate of Excellence as well as gaining the maximum grade from the AA in its 2015 Glamping Site inspection (four green pennants).

  • Cuckoo Down Farm has two safari tents, each sleeping up to six people, and three yurts, each sleeping four adults or up to six for a family with children.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement.

Toyboxes, high chairs and travel cots are provided free of charge.

The whole site can be booked in off-peak periods for hen nights (by arrangement only, hen nights must book the whole site).

This holiday is aimed at families and couples and is not suitable for groups aged under 25 or stag nights.

Activities on the farm include country walks, pony rides, feeding the chickens and meeting the farm's saddleback pigs and Suffolk-cross sheep. Families enjoy kite-flying, cricket, bike-riding, stream-damming and den-building here.

Near the farm you will find good beaches, shopping, restaurants, country pubs and family attractions and days out. All visitors are provided with a "What's On" guide to the local area.
