End Of The Road Festival

When: 03 September 2020 - 06 September 2020

Where: Larmer Tree Gardens, near Blandford, in Dorset

In the late summer of 2005 Simon Taffe decided that he wanted to start a festival. A music obsessive and festival-goer, Simon dreamed about booking the bands he loved and presenting them at the sort of festival that he’d like to attend. He tried to persuade friends to join him in the new venture, but most thought him mad until he approached old friend and fellow music lover Sofia Hagberg. She was enthusiastic and immediately accepted Simon’s offer, quit her job and joined End Of The Road as its only employee and co-founder. Philip Wicks joined to look after the finances and provide organisational backbone.

The first year, 2006, was a creative triumph, but a financial disaster. The team held their nerve and soldiered on with generous help from several supportive lenders. The critical reception continued to be hugely positive with more and more people coming along each time. The third year broke even, ensuring the future of the festival.

Today, End of The Road remains true to its initial dream: to book the bands that we love and present them in a way that respects the music and the audience. End Of The Road is not about any particular style of music. Rather it evolves depending on what excites us each year, but great songwriting has always been valued.

  • Camping is a big part of being at End of the Road. As with most festivals parking is separate to the campsites, so be prepared for a short walk from the car parks to the camping areas. We have 6 camping areas: General, Boutique, Family, Quiet, Accessible and Campervan / Caravan / Live In Vehicle.

General Camping is included in your weekend ticket price and there is more information below about what that means. If you’d like to camp in style, check out our boutique camping options a bit further down, with a range of different options now available.

    GENERAL CAMPING

    Toilet Blocks
Each block is cleaned several times a day, and either has a hand wash station or is close to a standpipe. All toilets are equipped with anti-bacterial hand-soap.

    Showers
There are lots of showers all located in one main block close to the general and family camping areas. Showers are open from 6am each morning until Midnight.

    Water Points
These are located every 100m along the campsite road.

    Litter
There are waste and recycling bin bags available from wristband exchange. Please help us to Leave No Trace.

    Lockup
Located in General Camping near the entrance to the village.

    FAMILY CAMPING

Family Camping is located closest to the car parks and wristband exchange. This area is ideal for families with young children, expect quieter evenings but earlier mornings! There are some notable differences in facilities available here:

    Toilet Blocks
There are baby changing facilities located at each toilet block.

    Water Points
There is drinking water located at the north toilet block, on your way to the showers.

    Lighting
There are several lighting points, these are to aid security and stay on all night. If you prefer it a bit darker, camp away from lighting poles. Please note these do make a bit of noise.

    QUIET CAMPING

Quiet Camping is a little further to walk from your car and a little further away from the village but it means you won’t get noise from the stages at night. This area is suitable for anyone who prefers it a little quieter or is a light sleeper. To get there you head past Family Camping and continue down the main general camping pathway. When you reach the next major crossroads you head right away from the Village towards the back of the field. You will be able to follow signs onsite.

    Water Points
These are located at each toilet block.
