Beacon Festival

When: 01 June - 22 June

Where: Watlington Hill Farm, Watlington, Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire’s Best Family weekend music event is held in Watlington in June.

A not-for-profit event that provides probably the best location to watch live music not just in Oxfordshire but probably in the UK. It is not just about the music at our event, the whole family is catered for with a dedicated kids Zone, a variety of workshops and skills demonstrations. Supported by various food outlets, a well-stocked real ale bar, cider bar and guest bars offering options to make the night extra special.

Whether you want to spend the whole weekend with us camping on site, or just to visit us on either the Friday or the Saturday once you have been, you will keep coming back.

If you have never been to a festival then this is the one to try, easy access to everything, no queues for anything and you will never feel crowded. We cater for many tastes in music with a complete array on offer all day and night. If you are a regular Festival goer then we are probably already on your radar and if not, then where have you been?

To be honest when the sun starts setting over Oxfordshire late in the evening it is the most magical place to be, with a drink in one hand some food in the other, friends and family laughing around you and a wonderful mix of music filling the night sky. Oh and when the night does come we light the Beacon on top of hill which can be seen for miles.

Join us for a wonderful weekend.

If you fancy doing something to contribute to the event, then hit our volunteers page or contact us page and we would be glad to hear from you. Give us a few hours before, on the weekend or share a skill you have we are open to ideas to continue to make Beacon the Best Social weekend of the year.

  • Beacon Festival brings a new vibe to a legendary place. Staged at Watlington Hill Farm, the site of the infamous Music On The Hill (MOTH) festival, Lindsay Howard-Dean who took over the farm from her parents a few years ago had the idea to re-ignite the flame, and with some gentle persuasion and a bit of arm twisting, put together a crack team of volunteers.

  • Set at the top of Watlington Hill, waking up in our festival campsite you'll experience the wonderful views across the Chilterns and Oxfordshire as well as being right next to the main festival site where all the action is.

Camping - £10 per person, under 16s are free. Only for sale in combination with weekend tickets and this year we are expecting to sell out of camping tickets as they will be limited.

A change to this year, due to our license, is that no Alcohol will be allowed to be brought into the main arena and there maybe bag searches to enter the main arena also. Remember we are a working farm so NO GLASS is allowed on the entire site.

Each person wishing to camp must have a valid camping ticket to gain entry to the festival camp site. Camping tickets are valid for both Friday and Saturday night. Camp site will be open from 4pm on Friday until 12 noon on Sunday.

PLEASE NOTE: Campervans will incur an additional charge and must be no longer than 25ft and strictly no buses on site. Please purchase your camping tickets for each person and add your camper van on top. Then contact us with your campervan requirement. Advance ticket sales only.

All pitches will be big enough for a family-sized tent and include use of campsite only washing and toilet facilities as well as the Campsite Café which will be on-hand to serve fresh coffee and breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning.
