Acorn Ponds are adding to their vintage caravans!!!

Glampsite: Acorn Ponds peaceful Glamping Retreat

If you are into vintage vehicles, you will enjoy staying at this interesting Glamping site in Shropshire.

Shropshire is steeped in history, Ironbridge , the Telford Aquaduct, the nearby canals, Welsh castles, and historic towns of Chester, Ludlow and Bishops castle. Just the place to stay!

So lots to see, but onsite we have a 1947 Show wagon, used by the fairground show people to live in as they travelled from fair to fair around the country.

Old airstream caravans are quite collectible, especially the older ones. Ours is dated 1970, which is 48 years old. The interior has most of the original fittings and our visitors are invited into ' the office' on arrival.

The Bow Top Wagon is a genuine 1950's gypsy caravan. The interior is original and in the past it was used by a young travelling couple with a baby.

We took it to the Malpas Yesteryear Rally for our honeymoon pulled by our little Fergie tractor. Malpas Rally is nearby in August if you are interested.

We couldn't resist our latest find. It is a 1974 little Safari Caravan which needed restoring. The decor is in a pretty tea shop style with lots of pink and purple and delicate teacup crockery. When it is available we will be offering tea and cakes to our visitors on arrival. She was covered in old poters when we got her. We saved one of Norma Jean and we have called the caravan Maralyn.
