Welcombe Meadow is a small, family run site in North Devon, with just two safari tents on the site. Perfect for families & small groups - your very own campsite!
We provide a unique camping experience in safari style tents, sleeping up to six per tent in luxurious comfort.

Enjoy the comforts of home with a well equipped kitchen, plus your own toilet and shower pods, just behind the bedrooms.
Relax enjoying views over the Devon countryside or cuddle up on the huge sofa in front of the wood burning stove.
Explore the farm land and plantation wood; making camps, playing till dusk then lighting a camp fire and toasting marshmallows.
Pop up to the village, just 5 minutes walk, for a pint and lunch.
Pick your own fruit and veg from the farm for the freshest meals ever!
Enjoy dinner on the front deck, with great views across the Devon countryside towards Dartmoor.
Look out for the local wildlife, deer, owls, foxes and kestrels have all been seen around the tent.
Enjoy some great local produce, try out some terrific local pubs and restaurants or, use the BBQ or wood-fired oven to cook for yourself.
North Devon has some of the best beaches in the country, plus many secret spots to discover.
With so much on offer, it’s up to you to choose, just take time to relax in your own corner of Devon or explore what Devon has to offer.

The two tents offer everything you could want for a relaxing break. The main area has a huge sofa, smart tv and wood burning stove, space to relax and a huge front deck from where to admire the view.
Each tent kitchen is equipped with everything you need for your stay. There is a fridge with a small freezer compartment, additional freezer space is available. A dual gas hob is provided, as well as the wood fired stove.
There are two bedrooms, a double bed and a twin, with a sleeping pod for the kids, a double. Other options may be available if requested. Towels and linen are provided, with your own toilet and shower pods, behind the bedrooms.
Electrical sockets are available in the tent, with on demand hot water in the pods and kitchen.
Each tent has its own BBQ area.

Invite friends to stay, we allow extra tents on the site as well.
There is a £25 surcharge for each pet - up to 2 per tent.

The safari tents are positioned in an ancient meadow, you are free to wander around the farm and explore. Each tent has a BBQ area and picnic table, with seating on the decks and hammocks to while away the hours.
Create camps in the plantation, make a camp fire at dusk and toast marshmallows watching the sun go down. Explore the wild life in the fields around the farm, deer regularly wander through the meadow. Get up early for a chance to see the barn owls flying at eye-level past the tents. Watch the buzzards spiral and saw while the hawks hunt for food.
Wander up to the village, just 5 minutes away, for a pint or cream tea. Whilst you're there get some essential supplies from the new village shop - fully licensed.
Rather than worry about cooking, try one of our hampers - for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a BBQ. Great homemade food sourced from local farms and suppliers. The burgers and sausages are superb, from Mudhouse Farm, and only available very locally!
Parking is located away from the tents but within easy walking. We help move your luggage at arrival and departure.

With so many activities to do in North Devon you're spoilt for choice, here are just a few to give you a taster.
Go cycling on the Tarka Trail, visit Instow and try some local oysters!
Experience fly fishing on the river Mole, or take a sea trip for mackerel.
Exmoor and Dartmoor are either side of the site, try geocaching or horseriding on the moors.
We have some of the bet beaches in the country, walk the vast sands at Saunton, have a go at surfing or wakeboarding - alternatively jusy soak up the sun.
Eaglescott Airfield is just 10 minutes away - book for a small aircraft flight, microlighting or gliding.
The Big Sheep and The Milky Way offer play zones and activities for the younger members of the family, bounce around Air Extreme or try coasteering for the more adventurous.
