  • Come and enjoy the space, let the kids run free, and explore the beautiful countryside around us – the yurts provide the perfect setting for you to relax, unwind and unplug.

Somerset Yurts is set across two fields of about three acres enjoying far reaching views over Taunton Vale to the Blackdown Hills in the distance.

  • The Yurts are furnished with everything you’d expect, including a regular power supply, comfy double bed, and a lovely crackling warm woodburner to keep you toasty in the evenings.

The barn provides a regular kitchen with home comforts if you don’t fancy BBQ’ing or cooking on the camping stoves provided. The barn also houses wonderful hot power showers and proper flushing toilets…this is luxury camping after all.

Picture yourself relaxing on your Yurt deck with the BBQ gently sizzling, the cows grazing in the distance and nothing but the sound of birds singing in the background.

  • Our yurts are all beautifully furnished with a lovely proper double bed, double futon, table and chairs, rugs, blankets and the fabulous woodburners – but did you know our facilities in the Dutch Barn are just as brilliantly equipped? We believe it wouldn’t be a proper glamping experience, without the facilities to back up and support the yurts!

  • Dunster Castle is about a 45 minute drive from the Yurts. We took our family there for a day out during the Easter holidays. It’s a pretty spectacular place. There’s been a castle on the site for over 1000 years, which started as a Saxon stronghold, and developed into a huge Victorian country house.

Fossil hunting at Kilve beach - Only around a forty minute drive from the yurts, will get you to the stunningly rugged North Somerset coast. Even on an overcast and windy day, the kids absolutely love getting to the beach and the adventure and excitement of fossil hunting!

explore Hestercombe Gardens. We haven’t been since last Summer, so it was lovely to see how it looked in the Spring time. There was a lot more colour than I had expected, and plenty of things to do including an Easter Trail for the children! The trail took us on a tour around parts of the gardens I’d not explored before and we found a tree perfect for climbing on (Will’s idea of heaven!), a Witches hut, and of course we had to have a mandatory splash in the stream

A couple of miles up into the Quantocks, to the National Trust’s Fyne Court. This really is a hidden gem, and fantastic place to visit, especially with children as there is so much to explore.

    West Somerset Railway -

As we have tickets for the West Somerset Railway available to purchase at a discount from the farm, why not Pick up the Steam train at Bishops Lydeard, a short 20/25 minute drive through lovely countryside from the farm.
