  • You’d never know it from the interiors, but the shepherd’s huts at Rushall Organics have been here for over 100 years. Longer, in fact, than the Wookey family who have been farming here for four generations.

The original framework is all still intact, newly painted in light, natural colours that mirror your surroundings, while inside all is light and space-efficient, with a double bed and two bunks that elegantly fold up into comfy seating in the daytime.

The huts are fully plumbed in with a handy butler sink, and added modern comforts include electric spotlights and a fridge, powered by solar panels on the roof, as well as a gas-powered oven. The private compost loo and outdoor, gas-powered shower are just a few steps away.

  • Anglers Retreat

Angler or not, you’ll find it easy to relax on this beautiful stretch of the River Avon

As the name suggests, you’re in the perfect location for a spot of fly fishing. With it’s own river frontage you can relax whilst listening to the flowing clear waters of the river, and watch the natural world pass you by, in the heart of this organic farm. Anglers Retreat can sleep up to four people comfortably, and with plenty of local attractions and places to eat there’s fun for all the family. So close to the Alton Barnes White Horse, there is a lot to see and do when you stay in Anglers Retreat. Or alternatively just relax and enjoy one of Wiltshire’s great spots, to forget about your worries and your strife.

    Mayfly

A pretty, riverside hut in its own corner of a 5,000 acre organic farm on Salisbury Plain

Settled in a beautiful glade next to the upper Hampshire Avon (where you might spot an otter or kingfisher if you’re quiet), Mayfly has wonderful views over Pewsey Vale. The river is a great spot to try your hand at fly fishing, whether you’re an expert angler or a complete beginner. The farm is set on the edge of the Salisbury Plain (well known as a military training area – so don’t be alarmed by the odd loud noise). Salisbury Plain is also an SSSI – an area filled with both wildlife and archaeological interest, with both Stonehenge and Avebury stone circle about 10 miles away. Sleeps up to four people.

  • Cooking

Both huts have a two-ring hob and an oven
Each hut has it’s own small fridge and all the cutlery and crockery you should need for your stay

    Washing

Both huts have Belfast sinks with hot and cold water
Hot showers are also available at both sites, on the outside of the huts
Each site has its own compost loo, very eco-friendly…

    Lighting & Bedding

The huts are lit by LED lights inside, which are powered by Solar PV panels located on the roof of the huts
All bedding and towels (one towel per guest) are provided, so you don’t have to bring your own
Both huts have an available cigarette lighter-style socket, so you can charge your mobile phone on a car phone charger

  • Stonehenge

One of the wonders of the world, and only 14 miles away, Stonehenge is the best known pre-historic monument in Europe, if not the world. It now boasts a brand new state of the art visitor centre, housing museum-quality exhibitions, plus five Neolithic houses and a spacious shop and café.

    Avebury

Another pre-historic marvel that lies only 11 miles away from the huts. Avebury is the world’s largest known stone circle, which is not only great to visit in itself, but is also a beautiful village with outstanding views and an incredible Manor House which is also open to the public.

    Devizes and The White Horse

Eight miles away lies the beautiful market town of Devizes. Famous for its canal locks and its castle, Devizes is a great visitor town with a lot to offer. And in nearby Alton Barnes lies one of Wiltshire’s White Horses. If you take a walk up to it, you will enjoy what is arguably one of Wiltshire’s finest and most breath-taking views.
