    The Tipi

There's nothing quite like the woodburning stove at night with the flames flickering to create a warm, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, far from the pressures of the world. Having started our glamping site with Tipis in 2003 we still consider it the most wonderful structure!

Decorated with Native American patterns, the Tipi is heated with a woodburning stove (with a fireguard). This accommodation sleeps four with one double and two single beds. Blankets with Native American designs create a lovely ambience and large cushions and bean bags are also provided for that extra comfort.

There is a chest full of extra blankets, a two ringed gas camping stove and all of your cooking equipment – pans, plates, kettle, mugs and cutlery. Lighting is provided and hanging lanterns help to create a warm and exceptionally cosy atmosphere. We also supply firelighters and a good supply of chopped, dry and seasoned hardwood in a basket.

    Log Cabin

The log cabin serves as a communal ‘hub’ for all of our guests.

Here you will find all of the pots and pans, cooking utensils, crockery etc that you will need for your self-catering stay. The log cabin has a full size calor gas cooker with an oven, a wood-burning stove, a power supply for charging mobile phones (mobile phone reception here is good), battery charging, etc, a sink for washing up, table and chairs and bench seating adorned with sheepskins and cushions.

We also have a corner dedicated to tourist information of the local area, days out, details on places to eat, takeaway menus etc. We've also created our own 'local trip advice!' folder in which customers have given their own views on local attractions, beaches etc.

    Play Area

It wouldn't be a family holiday without a play area!

Many of our younger guests thoroughly enjoy the play area and also the woodland surrounding it. We encourage den building and exploring the woods to discover nature, viewing this as an important part of the Larkhill experience. A game of man hunt at the end of the day is a ‘must’ for the kids!

    Communal Campfire

A great place to sit and enjoy an outdoor fire and to chat with other guests - no matter what the weather!

Located in front of the log cabin there is an all-weather campfire area. Many marshmallows have been toasted here in the evenings amongst fairy lights which light the paths - a magical atmosphere.

Included in your stay is a basket of firewood per night - any extra is £3.00 a basket.

    Toilets & Hot Showers

    Feel like you’re showering outside!

There are two hot showers, both of which have a lot of natural light flowing through the roof. We also have a tiled compost loo (praised by many of our guests!) and a bog standard flush loo - all with quirky toilet seats! All cleaning products used are environmentally friendly, and we supply eco friendly shampoo, conditioner, soap and clothes washing products.

  • SURROUNDING AREA
We are located in a very rural location not too far from the beautiful beaches of both Cardigan Bay, with its dolphins, porpoises and seals, and also Carmarthen Bay with its long sandy beaches.  There is a multitude of things to do in the area – from the energetic – horse riding, canoeing, mountain bike riding and go-carting, to coastal walking, visiting an Iron Age fort, numerous gardens (including the National Botanical Garden), a gold mine, and castles (there are many in the area).  If the weather isn’t kind the National Woollen Museum is on our doorstep as is a Childhood Museum and two steam railways.
