The tree lined site is completely surrounded by farmland and only 5 miles to the coast and 1 mile to local shops and Saxmundham train station (just under 2 hours to London). In the garden field is a kids play area with a vintage Army truck hiding in the trees and a large trampoline. Campfires are welcome, there is a communal firepit and individual fire pits that can be used at no charge. Firewood it available to buy from reception or visitors are very welcome to bring their own.
The site has a new toilet and shower block with family style shower rooms and hot water washing up sinks.
The campsite is a carfree zone to ensure kids are safe to play on site. Parking is immediately next to the camping field and trolleys are available to make easy work of unpacking.
Four legged family members are welcome. Dogs are allowed to stay in 'Betsy' and 'Nettie' and on the camping pitches but they must be kept on a lead at all times on site.
Hen parties are welcome but only when booking the site on an exclusive basis. Stag parties are not permitted.
All of the caravans (or as the Americans call them, trailers!) are vintage and date from the 1950s to the early 1970s. They have been restored but keep a retro feel by updating as little as possible. Little Elsie the British caravan sleeps two but all of the American caravans are either four or five berth. Visitors can choose to stay in Betsy, Dee Dee or Annie to name few of the silver ladies.
Each caravan has cooking facilities, a fridge and all the usual pots and pans. There is a radio and a TV. The TV is purely for watching DVDs and visitors will find a selection in the campsite Reception, along with a variety of board games.
Weekly prices for an Airstream start from £490 (£310 for little Elsie).
Weekend prices for an Airstream start at £240 (£160 for little Elsie).
