Heated Pods & Cabins situated on a small farm in the rolling Galloway Hills. Near to the beaches of the Solway coast, forests and stunning countryside. There is lots to see & do for all ages, from castles and culture, adventure sports to family attractions.
Some of our cabins come with wood fired hot tubs, all have a fire pit for the all important campfire.
Set in 80 acres for meadows, pasture and woodlands, explore your surroundings maybe den building or photographing the wildlife.

  • Gorsebank Glamping offers heated Pods and Cabins in the beautiful unspoilt but easily accessible Dumfries & Galloway.

    Whether you are looking for quick escape or a longer break, our relaxing and peaceful setting offers you a great base to recharge the batteries.

    Ideal for couples and familes, who love to enjoy the great oudoors in a little more comfort and style than traditional camping. 

    Our cabins are equipped with kettles, fridges, lights and heaters, plus outside is the all important campfire circle for toasting sausages or marshmallows.

    Situated on the edge of the Gallow Forest Dark Skies Park, on a clear night, the stars are amazing.

    We've spaced out our accommodation thoughfully, not too close together so you have plenty of space to chill out and feel at one with nature.  Meet our resident Herdwick Sheep, horses plus an abundance of wildlife, including otters, badgers, foxes, owls and kites.

  • Gorsebank Camping Village is also just a stone’s throw from Dalbeattie forest and some great coastline and beaches offering stunning walking.

    We are situated only 400 yards from the entrance to the Dalbeattie 7Stanes mountain bike trail head. Purpose made mountain bike trails suitable for all levels of riders.

    Located only 2.5 miles from the Solway Coast, we are also in easy reach of beaches and the dramatic coastline. Whether you want beaches for family fun or quiet secluded bays to laze away the day or walk the dog, you'll not be disappointed.

    For family days out, Mabie Farm Park near Dumfries has play areas, rides, boats and animals whilst the Cream O'Galloway Ice Cream Factory near Gatehouse of Fleet also has an adventure playground, nature walk and ice-cream making demonstrations.

    Galloway Wildlife Park in Kirkcudbright will delight children, as will The Cocoa Bean Children’s Chocolate Factory with hands-on fun for the kids making chocolate, an adventure playground plus cafe and shop for the adults. Maybe take a step back in time at Dinopark with its life-sized dinosaurs, Dino Dig and Mine.

    The region is steeped in a rich history and many castle, ancient buildings and cultural attractions can soon fill your itinerary. 

    On-site, children can venture around the farm and meet the Herdwick Sheep, maybe Pan for Gold, undertake the Nature Treasure Hunt or explore Hide & Seek Hill and the Adventure Path with tyre swing and swamp crossing.

    Dumfries, the county town, approximately 14 miles from Gorsebank, provides wet weather options including swimming pool, ice rink and cinema, not to mention shopping. We are also close to the regions market towns Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbright with its numerous art galleries and a short drive to The Scottish Book Town - Wigtown.

    Dumfries and Galloway is a nature lovers' paradise. The RSPB has several reserves along the Solway Coast, Threave Castle near Castle Douglas has a pair of nesting Osprey and the Laurieston Red Kite Centre is nearby. Only 2.5 miles away, the quaint seaside village of Kippford gives access to a low tide path across to Rough Island. There is a small yacht club and slipway at Kippford suitable for launching jet skis.

    1.5 miles down the road is Craigiknowles 9-hole pitch & putt course and tearoom.


    Coarse, game and sea fishing are all available within 3 miles of Gorsebank.

    • Coarse: Carp & tench fishing on site. Day tickets, bait and tackle hire available. Pike/perch at Carlingwark Loch and Loch Ken.
    • Trout & Salmon : Various day ticket lochs, large and small. We have a small brown trout pool for fly fishing and a bait pool full of rainbow trout. Salmon fishing on the Rivers Urr and Nith.
    • Sea : Shore fishing from Balcary Point.

    Angling shop in Dalbeattie 1.5 miles away.


    You really are spoilt for choice with some spectacular and varied walking. Close by is the Jubilee Path linking Rockcliffe and Kippford (2 miles); slightly more strenuous is the dramatic cliff path between Rockcliffe and Sandyhills (6 miles) or, if you are really energetic, climb Screel Hill or Criffel for some superb views over the Solway Firth and on to the Lake District beyond.
