We are Country Bumpkin Yurts; a countryside glamping experience
Our site comprises of three traditionally designed yurts, spacious and with full access to all the modern amenities. Two of our yurts can sleep up to six people, and our smaller yurt accommodates two people. Each yurt is based on a wooden platform, with picturesque views across the farm. A log burner, shabby chic furnishings and cosy beds are in each tent so you can rest in comfort and style. With rustic-luxury private bathrooms, outdoor kitchenettes, and a communal indoor kitchen, you will have everything you need. The wooden gazebo area provides a great space for alfresco dining with your friends and family. Our eco-friendly wood-burning hot tub makes it a yurt glamping experience for those looking for an extra special stay.We should explain what a yurt is!
Yurt is Russian for ‘Dwelling’. It is a nomadic shelter lived in for thousands of years by tribes from the near East and Central Asia. Country Bumpkin Yurts have built upon this traditional structure and added a dose of luxury!
A stay in a yurt will allow you to experience the uplifting and calming effects of living without corners in a circular space, conducive to balance and harmony. And the roof window lets you watch the stars across the sky as you feel yourself unwind. The yurts architecture is not only extremely practical but also aesthetically beautiful.

Here at Country Bumpkin Yurts, we want you to feel that you have everything you need to have a relaxed and enjoyable staycation. We try to provide all of the self-catering facilities so that you can simply pack your clothes, your food, and your family into the car (no kitchen sink required).
Bathrooms
With this in mind, you will never be short of hot water and our private bathrooms have plug sockets to accommodate hairdryers and straighteners should the occasion call for them. We provide all the loo roll, shampoo, and conditioner so no need to pack all your bathroom bits. Our eco-friendly composting toilets in each bathroom ensure that the environment is looked after too. They are simple to use – the main difference is that men must sit down – yes that’s right – sit down to take a wee!
Kitchens
Our communal kitchen has all the modern appliances including an electric kettle, toaster, a 2-ring hob, a fridge, freezer, and microwave. You will also have your own alfresco kitchenette with a gas camping stove, cool box, and water container. All pans, crockery, and cutlery are supplied too.
For those warm summer months, each yurt has its own BBQ and tools. All you need to do is simply supply the coal.
Hot tub
Our shared wood-fired hot tub is the perfect spot to unwind and relax under the stars. Depending on your arrival time, we can prepare and light this for you ready for you to enjoy straight away. All logs for daily use are included in your stay and we will show you how to use it so you can continue to enjoy it throughout the duration of your visit.
Heat & Power
Your yurt has a log burner to keep you cosy throughout the night. Firewood is included in your stay.
Each yurt has its own solar-powered hub. This will light your yurt and enables you to charge mobile phones and tablets via a USB cable (Please note that the solar power can be a little unreliable, especially during winter, so we provide extra candles for lighting and you can use the mains power in the facilities for charging your devices).
Food & Drink
If you are cooking…Waterloo Cottage Farm shop is ideal to pick up all your ingredients and its right on our doorstep! Pop in for fresh bread, milk, meat, fresh vegetables, and even a bottle of spirit, wine or craft beer to enjoy with dinner.
We like to think we have all of your self-catering facilities covered! If you think of anything else, let us know.
If you ever decide to leave your beautiful yurt, you will find plenty to do both on and off the farm. Whether you explore by foot, on two wheels or four, you will be enchanted by the area that we love. The East Midlands is your oyster.
