  • The Boutique Bothy is located in Dumfries & Galloway, the heart of South West Scotland - home to stunning countryside, dramatic coastline and great food.  Our Bothies offer alternative, unusual glamping accommodation.  Situated on a peaceful 80-acre farm in an ideal location a few miles from safe beaches, the 7Stanes Mountain Biking Trails and great family attractions, our posh camping bothies provide not only great value, but extremely comfortable accommodation.  You can book either of our Bothies for your exclusive use.  After enjoying a day out, unwind with a drink next to a log fire or BBQ, or better still, relax in your wood fired hot tub (optional extra).  Our bothies are ideal for families, reunions or just a group of friends enjoying a short break holiday.

  • Bothy 1 - Glamping barn sleeping up to 6 people
     
    Bothy accommodation
     
    Downstairs there is an open plan kitchen area with an oven, hob, kettle, toaster, microwave and sink with hot and cold water.  All the pans, plates, cutlery and glasses are included.  The cosy lounge area has sofas, chairs and Freesat TV.  Heating is by a log burning stove and you can pre-order a large basket of suitable hardwood logs to keep you toasty and warm.
    Sleeping is on the open plan 1st floor where there are 2 double beds and 1 bunk bed.
    Outside, there is a patio area with seating and a chimenea, plus you have the option to hire a wood-fired hot tub and/or a gas barbecue.
    The heated toilet and shower block is just 50 metres from the Bothy door, with great hot powerful showers. There is also a laundry and drying room.
    We provide undersheets on the beds and you bring your own pillows, duvets/sleeping bags and towels.
    Firewood and marshmallow toasting kits are on sale and gas BBQ's are available for hire.
     
     
    Bothy 2 - Glamping barn sleeping up to 10 people

    We have a 2-night minimum stay at weekends. For single mid week night stays, there is a supplement of £20 for Bothy No 1 and £30 for Bothy No 2.  Special pricing applies for Christmas & New Year.  Sorry, but no pets in or around the Bothies.  Please note, we are a designated quiet site and the Bothies are not suitable for noisy or boisterous groups. We do not accept hen or stag groups.

    The 7 stanes are world class mtb centres that span the south of Scotland. The award winning trails offer some of the best mtb trails in the UK.  There are a range of routes to suit beginners, families and experts.  Plus many of the centres have skills areas to practice your technique.

    The collection contains many fine and rare examples of crystals found in Britain. They are displayed alongside many other colourful specimens from around the world with unusual items such as the 4.5 billion year old, three kilogram meteorite, the fossilised egg and dung of a dinosaur! The “Maverick” gold nugget is one of the largest natural gold specimens on display in the U.K. generously donated to the museum by “Maverick” Bill Wilson and his wife Margaret.

    Situated on the scenic north shore of the Solway coast, Mersehead is an extensive wetland and saltmarsh area, a haven for breeding waders, wintering waterfowl and year-round bird and wildlife-watching. Spring is particularly magical, when the wet meadows fill with lapwings and skylarks.

    The Galloway Red Kite Trail is an exciting nature watching opportunity to view spectacular red kites in lovely scenery. The 'Galloway Kite Trail', situated around beautiful Loch Ken promotes the population of kites, recently re-established in Kirkcudbrightshire.
     
    Things to do on site 
     
    Fishing
    We have a Fishery on site where we offer Coarse Fishing (for Mirror & Common Carp to 8lbs, Tench to 2lbs, Crucians, F1's and Rudd), Bait Trout Fishing (a catch and keep pond for Rainbow trout) and Fly Fishing (a catch and release pond for Brown and Rainbow Trout).  We also hire tackle and have a variety of bait for sale.
    Mountain Bike Hire 
    We are located next to Dalbeattie Forest which has a network of bike routes, some nice and gentle, others for the really adventurous! 
    We also have trailer buggies and tag-alongs for ages 1-6 yrs old.
    Treasure Hunt
    Grab a treasure map and find the Herdy and Nature signs around the farm.  Some can be quite tricky to find!  Tick all the signs off on your map and claim your prize.
    Farm and Forest Walks
    Explore the farm - or take the more adventurous paths around the forest and even down to the coast.
