  • Nestled in the stunning landscape of the Shropshire and Powys hills right on the Wales-England border, Barnutopia Luxury Glamping accommodates 38 guests sleeping comfortably in its 3 fully furnished yurts, 2 luxury stables, a cabini and a bunkhouse. All have real beds, power, lighting, heating and free WiFi. Beds are made ready for your arrival.

We have indoor dining facilities available both in the farmhouse and our huge, furnished long barn, which may also be used for parties and activities (arts & crafts, yoga, hobby). Our Dutch barn is tall enough to have a campfire under cover if the weather is poor.

Since opening in June 2015, we have earned over one hundred 5-star reviews on Trip Advisor, Facebook, Pitchup and Airbnb. Guests compliment us on our hospitality, glamping accommodation, shared facilities and location.

Our animals are an integral part of the experience. We have a Dutch Friesian horse, a North American mustang, two kunekune pigs, very friendly cats and a lovely dog. All are friendly and well-handled. We hope to add to our menagerie in future.

Rural yet accessible, Barnutopia is reached along B roads from Oswestry, one of the oldest market towns in Britain. There is unlimited hiking, multiple tourist attractions and activities within ten miles of Barnutopia. Technically in Shropshire, our local village is Llansilin, Powys. The Wales - England border is the stream behind the pigsties. We literally have one foot in Wales and the other in England.

Padron and Spirit our horses. Oscar and Pinky our cats. And Ziva the dog. Toys for younger children in the breakfast room.

In truth, when we first opened we were worried that children would be bored here. To date, 70% of our guests have been families with children and boredom has not been an issue. Children love it here and we've had more than a few tears when they have to leave. Even teenagers enjoy the countryside and have access to Wi-Fi in emergencies. ;-)

There is a fish ladder within a quarter of a mile of Barnutopia and a walk up the Gyrn Moelfre (one of the film locations for "The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill and Came Down a Mountain") within two miles. The countryside and views are absolutely stunning. Not a single guest has been disappointed.

Oswestry, one of the oldest market towns in Britain, is 5 miles away and has a range of boutique shops, restaurants and supermarkets. There are many, many tourist attractions within 15 miles including the tallest waterfall in Britain (Pistyll Rhaeadr), Pontcysyllte Acqueduct (tallest manmade waterway in Britain) Park Hall Farm countryside experience, Offa's Dyke, Whittington Castle, Chirk Castle, the British Ironwork Centre, Olf Oswestry Hill Fort.
